Placing the students in a blank nothingness or the full-catastrophe turmoil of a real house would be preferable.

Kabat-recitation Zinn’s of a Korean Zen teacher’s favorite phrase is equally bad. The instructor would ask, “What am I?” and respond, “Don’t know.”

The narrative is great, but Kabat-Zinn voices it. (For just five words, the rest of his teacher’s citing is blissfully unimitated.) Kabat-Zinn, who is very aware of the world, should recognize why a white person performing an Asian accent is troublesome.

The training has several guided meditations. Kabat-“falling Zinn’s awake” in corpse posture (there’s also a yoga portion) is useful, although many guided meditations are distracting.

I haven’t had the patience to finish the hour-long “body scan” or the half-hour “loving-kindness” meditation.

However, it’s curiously pleasant that those depths of boredom (Kabat-Zinn says meditation is dull) remain to be explored. This course is deeper than an inch.

Given its critical success, I’d want MasterClass to provide additional meditation courses for our $180 yearly price. The Maharishi and The Beatles promoted mantra-based Transcendental Meditation (TM).

Kabat-Zinn, a 1960s Vietnam war protester, should at least mention it to distinguish mindfulness from TM.

It may be intentional. Kabat-MasterClass Zinn simplifies mindfulness without comparisons. It hits the brain and heart. You’ll surely be moved by excellence. Kabat-not. Zinn’s Yours.
