Mindvalley 6 Phase Meditation Review | How It Works?

Phase 1: The Circle of Compassion (10 min)

Compassion is the ability to understand the emotional state of the inner self or another person because a truly compassionate person always actively participates in the pain of others.

The Circle of Compassion

This phase is all about positive feelings that are connected to other people and they create a sense of compassion towards them.

This part of the meditation offers a few minutes to feel and imagine a connection with the whole world because loneliness is the biggest problem in modern society.

In this phase, you will realize that we are not alone but are one whole being, and we must function together with love and connect in a positive way with each other. This process is obviously not social interaction, but it shows you the power of connection.

After practicing meditation, your brain will start paying more attention and finding meaningful connections with others.

Vishen says, ‘Compassion is trainable.’ Here are the steps below:

  • Think about the person that makes you feel the most loved.
  • Take deep breaths and express gratitude to the world.
  • Just visualize the world in your mind.
  • Feel the love that is coming towards you.
  • Never get locked up on the imagery.

Phase 2: Gratitude (10 min)

Gratitude is different from compassion. It is an emotion of being thankful for the good things that happen in your life. With gratitude, you can take your time to express appreciation and return kindness. Gratitude is a powerful expression that leads you to a strong sense of well-being. Appreciation is the best way to cultivate gratitude.

6 Phase Meditation Review - Gratitude

This is a part of meditation that has some scientifically proven benefits such as creating a more forgiving attitude, higher emotional intelligence, a sense of social connection, less depression, improved sleep, and removing headaches.

Gratitude is a life-changing expression and in order to develop this skill, you must practice it daily. Depressed people always worry about the things that are not right in their life rather than expressing gratitude for what they have.

Steps to think about when practicing gratitude:

  • 5 things that you are grateful for in your personal life
  • 5 things in your professional life
  • 5 things about yourself

Always be grateful for being alive every day because many people in the world might not be able to make it that day. Always be grateful for having a life, a family, and a few friends that give you a reason to stay happy.

Phase 3: Forgiveness (17 min)

Forgiveness is an intentional and voluntary process that releases a feeling of consciousness towards the person who had harmed you but undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense. It doesn’t mean forgetting but forgiveness brings the forgiver peace of mind and frees him or her from corrosive anger.

Forgiveness

This phase lets you visualize the person who has done something wrong in the past. Then what you have to do is to forgive that person if he or she has overcome negative emotions such as resentment and vengeance.

This process doesn’t mean going back and finding that person but this is part of Meditation where you can take this moment to lay it to rest.

Every person in the world has different values and personal boundaries. You can hide your pain in your inner space and forgive that person by throwing out the stuff that is outdated.

The biggest struggle people tend to have is letting things go that harmed them. Meditation will let you practice and realize that forgiving a person who hurt you is not about them but about your own harmony.

In the way of Meditation, look at how to do it:

  • Pick something
  • Imagine that person (who has harmed you) in that thing
  • Feel the pain for some time that they caused you
  • Ask yourself: what and why did they do so?
  • Forgive that person and forgive yourself (see the younger self and apply the same technique)

Phase 4: Envisioning the Future (17 min)

Envisioning the future is an ability to combine elements of the past and present and make it better in the future. Your visions help you define the goals by giving you a structure to evaluate those goals.

Envisioning the Future

Visualization of the future is more important than knowledge. Because knowledge is limited to all we know and understand now, while a vision embraces the entire world. People who don’t have visions are actually those who don’t have any future goals or ambitions to grow.

Lack of a compelling future is the biggest cause of depression because they have a proper mindset that the future has nothing to offer them but pain and failure. Envisioning the future creates a space where you let your wants and needs take shape.

This phase allows you to dream of the things that you want to have. This procedure helps you to push through the challenges of life.

Phase 5: Your Perfect Day (7 min)

Envisioning the future will be just the planning if you’re not gonna execute it. In order to make your vision come true in the future, you have to start working today.

Craft Your Perfect Day

You have your dream now it’s time to plan it. Fulfill your big dreams this is impossible to achieve your planned steps in just one day. You can take little steps every day by scheduling it.

Every day you woke up just ask yourself, what can I do today in order to one step closer to my vision. That is where you need this phase by setting up a proper mindset. When you have a proper mindset then you probably design your days actively toward your dreams & desires.

Just think of the facts, how many days or years you need to work until you reach the milestone that you are planning for. Just plan everything, what can you do, what help you can get, how many resources you have, and every step that takes you closer.

The best way to plan your day:

  • Organize your tasks
  • Priorities your tasks
  • Schedule a time for each task
  • Leave space in your schedule

Never think it’s too late to do anything, just start working today and achieve your goal.

Phase 6: The Blessing (6 min)

Blessings are defined as a person’s sanction, God’s favor, or something for which you are grateful. It means you have a power that you should connect to the divine. Imagine a golden light hitting your skull and filling you with wonderful energy. This is not a mystical power but a spiritual power that is necessary for every human.

6 Phase Meditation Review - The Blessing

This phase is all about connecting to that energy and asking for support for the first five phases. It feels that the entire world has your back and all your dreams will come true.

It is up to you whether you believe in a higher power or not but often pretend that we can call upon a higher power or an internal container of energy. It makes us feel more supported and confident in pursuing our dreams.
